| Lucille is a Strad model cello Thurmond made in 1998,
dedicated to his Aunt Lucille DePamphilis. Maple for the ribs, back and scroll are
all from Bavaria, taken from trees cut in the 1950s.. The spruce top is from the
Mittenwald area forests, cut in 1954. Her willow blocks are from North Carolina, and
her bass bar and soundpost are from New Hampshire red spruce cut in 1866, and salvaged
from the second longest covered bridge in the world which spans the Connecticut River
between Windsor, Vermont and Cornish, New Hampshire. Lucille has been purchased by a
